STORIES OF places, people, nature & nostalgia

Hi, I’m Katie.

I’m a photographer and writer living in a little old cottage in Wiltshire.

I love nothing more than planning a trip to a quiet corner of the coast or countryside and seeking out places that are full of life, thanks to the efforts that have been taken to preserve their histories and character, the connections that they have with nature, or their advocacy of a simple and more sustainable way of living.

For as long as I can remember the coastline in particular has been my place of solitude, somewhere to collect my thoughts. It is certainly where my mind drifts to most often. I think this stems from my summers as a child, spent in an old grey house overlooking the Cornish coast. The house sadly no longer stands but it has left me with a love for wild locations and rustic interiors. A place or object with a storied past is to me irresistible.

The Neap & Spring journal is somewhere for me to record and share the places that I’ve stumbled across and found special. The ones that have stayed with me for some time after leaving them. It’s been a few years now since I’ve written any new entries. I’m hoping to revive it soon over on Substack.

In the meantime, I share my photography, writing and collaborations on Instagram.
