Hi, I’m Katie and I’m a writer and photographer living in a little old cottage in Wiltshire.
I love nothing more than planning a trip to a quiet corner of the coast or countryside and seeking out places rooted in tales of the past. For as long as I can remember the coastline in particular has been my place of solitude, somewhere to collect my thoughts. It is certainly the place my mind drifts to most often. I think this stems from my summers as a child, spent in an old grey house overlooking the Cornish coast. The house sadly no longer stands but it has left me with a love for wild places and rustic interiors. A place or object with a storied past is to me irresistible.

These are the kind of things I seek out and want to celebrate here, as a journal for myself but hopefully for others to enjoy too. I want to record and share the places that I’ve stumbled across and found quite special. The ones that have stayed with me for some time after leaving them. I hope that this can be a little part of your daily escapism. That it inspires one or two new ventures to places otherwise unknown. I also hope it adds to the pleasure of those re-discovering places previously frequented. The best journeys are always worth repeating.
